2016; How’d I Do?

Earlier in 2016 I made a list of all the things I wanted to do this year. Some were solid goals, and some were a bit more emotional. I set a list, but did I complete anything on it?

To spend at least ten minutes a day commenting on blogs. This really depends on the day, but I’m going to count it as a success anyway. Sure, it’s definitely not every day, but it’s way more than I was reading this time last year! And my follower count has gone up a lot, probably not a coincidence?

Nsheldon-stressot stress out about challenges. Depending on the challenges I did well! Maybe too well… We’ll see this better in my bookish goals wrap up coming up

Write at least one discussion post a month. Or, you know, change up your whole blog so it’s ALL discussion posts, that’s cool too…

Have my own photos of my books. Yup! I started a bookstagram, and although I’d like to post more (and never completed all those monthly challenges I signed up for), it’s way more than I was taking last year!

Review every book I read. Orrrrr, get rid of your book blog. That works instead, right?

Use categories for all of my posts. Uhh, not really. I planned on adding way more, but it didn’t happen as well as I wanted it to…

Eat breakfast every day. Well….

Get my driver’s licence. Success! I mean, just my learners, but that was the goal. Plus a lot more driving lessons, so YAY MEDriving.jpg

Have good time management for school. I kind of countered this by forgetting to care a lot of the time… This is NOT a good tactic. It’s really not!

Learn how to do make-up. Yup! I’m still not amazing, I’m never going to do winged eyeliner or anything like that. But I can put something halfway decent on my face, enough to make me feel confident on a night out

Go swimming at least once a week. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Feel happy and inspired. By applying to uni, re-vamping the blog, making a YouTube channel, branching out in my friend groups, Skyping internet friends for the first time, coming out as bi… I did AMAZINGLY with this one, even if a lot of it is just knowing that next year will be better!Be Happy

Honestly, I expected this post to be laughing at my failure… I’m impressed by how well I did this year! My goals were just the right amount of ambitious and achievable, which is very important. Hopefully next year is even better!

Did you meet your 2016 resolutions? Or did you fail some on purpose?

  1. These are such great challenges!! Although omg how do you not eat breakfast everyday!?? I’m so dying of starvation by the time breakfast comes around I could eat a camel.😂
And I had a “don’t stress over challenges” sort of mental goal too *nods* because reading isn’t FUN when one is stressing, right?!?
Congrats on starting up a youtube and getting your license and coming out and and skyping and applying to uni…omg SO MANY AMAZING THINGS YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION.

    1. I just don’t feel like eating that early in the morning! It’s so bad for me though, oops.
Exactly! I should read books I want to read, not the ones that are going to get me the most points! Great minds think alike obviously 🙂
*fangirls because actual Paper Fury is inspired by lil old me*

  2. YAY, congrats on doing well on your goals! I really want to comment on & read more blogs this year, because I think I’ve got kind of lazy at that. But I’m really glad to hear that you’ve been feeling happy and inspired, because that’s super important! SO MANY THINGS I AM MILDLY IN AWE but yes. Hopefully 2017 will be better too ❤
