A Blog Re-Vamp

Here’s the problem with book blogging; there’s only so much you can say before you run out of book-related things to talk about. At least, that’s how I’m feeling at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, I love this blog to bits, and I love (almost) every post I’ve written. Maybe, though, it’s time for a change.

Don’t worry, there’ll still be plenty of book related posts. Exploring My Bookshelves isn’t going anywhere, reviews aren’t going anywhere. Maybe it’s just time to… expand. I want to start posting things about my life, and the world around me, that aren’t related to fiction. I want to start talking about other fiction, not just books. I have a hundred and one posts floating around in my head, and I need to start getting them down on paper (or screen).

Bye bye little blog!

I’m just not excited about what I’m writing right now, and it’s hard to stay motivated when you aren’t excited. I find myself procrastinating with writing reviews, instead of leaping onto a computer to tell you all my thoughts. More and more discussions are creeping in, and posts that don’t directly relate to what I’m reading. And if this blog is for me, why not embrace that? Why not start writing what does make me excited, and see where that takes me?

I’ve been book blogging for two years. Two years, people! That’s a crazy long time. Now, Addlepates and Book Nerds is over. Finished. Kaput. I want a new name, new set up, and new posts that I’m excited to write. The way I want you guys to help is by recommending me other blogs I should check out, telling me what sort of posts you want to see, and giving me some possible name ideas. Thanks for sticking with me you lovely humans, I can’t wait to see what comes next!

  1. Congrats on following your heart. ^_^

Deidra at https://deidraalexander.com/2016/09/06/polly-want-a-cracker-kitty-wants-a-snack/ posts funny images and sometimes has her own quote to go along it or a short story.

I don’t remember who specifically, but they did a discussion post so you can start a discussion about something and people can post their replies.

One can also post tips about how they go along with reviewing books, reading books, and where to find free books.

There are ton of other things, too ^_^

  2. Changing it up is always a good way to keep the momentum alive. I went through that earlier this year with my blog’s name change, and I’m very happy about it! I think you should blog about things you love! That’s why I decided when I started my blog that I needed different things to talk about because I’m not always reading so I post about TV shows I watch, I blog about the places I’m traveling or music I’m listening/or seeing live… I think the possibilities are endless! Good luck figuring out what your next step is! 🙂
