It’s My Birthday!

I am an adult! An actual, real life adult! For some of you who are older, this probably isn’t very exciting, but 18 is a big deal for me. In New Zealand, it makes me officially an adult. A 20 or 21 year old has no more rights than I do, so that’s pretty cool. 

I haven’t done anything very exciting yet – my brother gave me some very cute earrings, including purple flowers, flamingos, and silver geometric shapes. He’s not the best present giver, so I’m happy with that! His card was accidentally a Mother’s Day card, but that’s more funny than offensive. My mum appreciated her birthday card too 😛

I haven’t had a chance to see what presents my parents have got me just yet, but I have faith they’ll have got me really awesome stuff. They always do, they’re good like that. I’ve also got cute messages on Facebook from my friends, the highlight being this one from my American sister;

A year ago yesterday I met my sister for the first time and experienced how beautiful New Zealand really is. And today it’s her (NZ) birthday!!!
Victoria, I love you so much and I am so fortunate to have been paired up with you. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think about you or your family. I can’t wait to see you again in the future and explore new adventures with you. I love you so much! Eat hokey pokey ice cream for me:-) happy birthday sis💕

Very soon we’re going out for dinner, to a nice Mongolian restaurant that I love (Genghis Khan if you’re wondering). You get to make up your own bowls of noodles and meats and salads, which they cook in front of you. And yes, unlimited bowls. Did I mention I love this place?

And then, on Saturday I’m having a birthday gathering thing. Everyone is expecting me to get stupidly drunk, but that’s just not me! Sorry to disappoint, it’ll just be food and hanging out with my friends for the night.
