The Book Sacrifice Tag

Thanks so much to J Belk Books and Rose Reads for this tag!

1.) An Over-Hyped book: Let’s start this off with a Zombie Apocalypse! Let’s say you’re in a book store, just browsing, when BAM! ZOMBIE ATTACK. An announcement comes over the PA System saying that the military has discovered that the zombies’ only weakness is over-hyped books. What book that everyone else says is amazing but you really hated do you start chucking at the zombies knowing that it will count as an over-hyped book and successfully wipe them out?!

Divergent or the Hunger Games! They’re insanely popular, but I just can’t love either of them. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t bad, they just aren’t as good as people say they are. Particularly the last book in each trilogy; they really flopped when it came to trying to make a good endingLove Triangle of Doom

2.) A Sequel: Let’s say you’ve just left the salon with a SMASHING new haircut and BOOM: Torrential downpour. What sequel are you willing to use as an umbrella to protect yourself?

From zombie apocalypse to nice hair… What a strange combination 😛 Anyway, I’m going to cheat a bit on this answer, and say Dangerous Creatures. Technically, it’s the first book in the series, but the series is a sequel to the Beautiful Creatures series. And it. Is. Terrible. Ridley was my favourite in Beautiful Creatures, and in Dangerous Creatures I wanted to punch her every two pagesRidley Duchannes

3.) A Classic: Let’s say you’re in a lecture and your English teacher is going on and on about how this classic changed the world, how it revolutionised literature and you get so sick of it that you chuck the classic right at his face because you know what? This classic is stupid and it’s worth detention just to show everyone how you feel! What classic did you chuck?

Honestly, I haven’t read many classics at all. I think I’ll have to say Anne Frank though (is that considered a classic?). Sure, it’s interesting to learn about the history, but it’s so hard to get through!Throwing Book Out Window

4.) Your least favourite book of life!: Let’s say that you’re hanging out at the library when BAM global warming explodes and the world outside becomes a frozen wasteland. You’re trapped and your only chance for survival is to burn a book. What is the book you first run to, your least favourite book of all life, what book do you not fully regret lighting?Burning Book

OhmyGod, that is the worst crime ever! I feel guilty even answering! I think, if I had to, I’d burn We Were Liars or If I Stay. I wanted to claw my eyes out while reading those, plus I had such high expectations for both. And if I burn them, then maybe I can save other people from reading them?

Nominated

I nominate these people, who I know agree with me about at least one of my answers (after a lot of hard searching);

  1. I loved reading your answers!! Hunger Games is quite over hyped!! I don’t really like classics, I haven’t read Anne Frank! I have an assigned classic reading this month and it’s George Orwell’s Animal Farm! Hopefully I’ll get through it!

  2. I hated Beautiful Creatures, so I didn’t bother with the other books. I feel you on number 1 (even though I love the Divergent Trilogy). I can see why a lot of ppl hated the ending, but it actually worked for me because It was brave to kill the heroine. George R.R. Martin style! LOL

  3. Interesting picks, Victoria! I actually enjoyed If I Stay, but I know others besides you that didn’t, lol. However I totally agree with you on the Over-Hyped books!! 🙂

  4. Haha, this was a cool tag! I agree with you that Divergent is waaaaaaay to over hyped, ugh. I don’t even know why! Dangerous Creatures was horrible! I somewhat enjoyed Beautiful Creatures, but the authors writing got progressively worse as she wrote Dangerous Creatures!
