Exploring My Bookshelves (#61) – My Precious

Exploring My Bookshelves is a weekly meme created over here at Addlepates and Book Nerds, and co-hosted with Shannon @ For the Love of Words. For more info on how it works, have a look here

Exploring My Bookshelves 2016

A Precious Book

As in, something you don’t want to read because you don’t want to risk damaging it.

I don’t really have any of these – I think a book is for reading, and if you’re not going to read it, what’s the point in having it? I’m not one of those kinds of people that buys hardcovers just because they look nicer or anything like that.

I do have a book that fits this category though, a gift from years and years ago. My copy of Alice In Wonderland is just way too gorgeous to risk having anything happen to it. I mean, look at it, isn’t it beautiful??

What books did you choose this week? Are you like me, or do you have a lot of books you’re overprotective of?

  1. I’m not super protective of them or anything, but I have a partial set of Charles Dickens novels from the early 1900s that I got super cheap and I don’t take them out of the house. They’re in surprisingly good condition given their age.

  2. Aaah! Rainbow Bookshelves! Beautiful. I’m gonna say that I’m extremely overprotective of my Captive Prince trilogy, Uprooted copy, Pride and Prejudice manga copy, The Lux series, Saga series… who am I kidding, all my books are super precious to me 😀
