Exploring My Bookshelves (#53) – Christmas Presents

Exploring My Bookshelves is a weekly meme created over here at Addlepates and Book Nerds, and co-hosted with Shannon @ For the Love of Words. For more info on how it works, have a look here

In the first week of 2016, there are going to be a couple of changes! The first is my bookshelf showing off picture, which now looks like this:

Do you like it? Huh? Huh?? I like it, and that’s what’s really important. Since I rearranged my shelves, I think I needed a new photo for this. So, that’s change numero uno!

Anyway, this week’s topic is…

A Christmas Present

Not necessarily from the most recent Christmas, from any Christmas you like! But I’ll be telling you about the two books I got for Christmas this year (even though neither are officially on my shelf):

The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire by Dan Howell and Phil Lester. I rated this 5 stars, because I’m madly in love with these YouTubers! I chose this book for myself, because it’s the kind of book I need to own in ‘real’ book form

Famous Last Words by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski. I haven’t had time to read this yet, but it sounds like a really sweet little contemporary/romance. Good choice from my Gran!

As part of my changing, I want to start linking you guys to my reviews, maybe giving you the blurb of the book, or at the very least my initial thoughts when I picked it up. With most categories, I will of course be telling you why I picked it for that category. I think it’ll liven the posts up a little!

MY FINAL SURPRISE. A linky! That’s right, I havw FINALLY got around to making a linky. I promise this will be here each and every week, and I promise I’ll go through and visit each and every one of you.

So go on, add your link! And let me know what you think of the changes – or if there needs to be any more?

  1. Hmm, I’m really looking forward to TABINOF, but I haven’t of Famous Last Words. For some reason, it’s reminding me of Looking for Alaska XD And do I have to link my weekly wrap ups to the linky, or any post?

  2. Your shelves are so organized… One day, I may actually arrange mine in some fun way (as opposed to the haphazard way they are now). In response to your lovely books, I haven’t heard of Famous Last Words before, but that seems like a cute, quick read. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it whenever you get around to reading it c:

  3. my bookshelves include boxes. lol. But my favorites are actually on a shelf. or in my kindle. So that’s what matters 🙂 I like the idea of giving a brief synopsis of the book. This is a really cool meme/blog hop. I’m glad I found it.
