The Selection – Blog Tour/Buddy Read

Hi! I don’t know if you’ve heard, but we’re starting a blog tour/buddy read where we all read the Selection in the first week of this month. You can read the book at your own pace, and we’ll try our best to keep our posts spoiler-free. The tour part (where we post about the book) will be stopping at the end of the week, but if you’re running behind with your reading, you can always comment a little late on the posts. If you want to join, it’s not too late! Just message me, or comment with your email address ASAP.

Here’s the schedule:

May 4th: The read begins!

May 5th: Swxftbooks on character development

May 6th: Daydreaming Books progress update

May 7th: Maxon vs Aspen, on all three blogs

May 8th: Enchanted Books cast wishlist

May 10th: Reviews!Β

The Selection

Blurb from Goodreads

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself–and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Really, this is the easiest way to describe it: it’s like the Bachelor, but with a prince. A pretty great prince, in my opinion. And there’s Aspen, forming the awkward love triangle. If you haven’t read this book, definitely pick it up! Can’t wait to see what you all think πŸ™‚Β

I was a book blogger for a while, and I now blog about every little thing in life I can think of. Bear with me while I try all these new posts out... I'm a New Zealand teen who gets angry about the world (but not angry enough for tumblr). I like to capture the world through photos and words, and read in all the moments in nz-squadbetween. I have an overwhelming desire to see every corner of the world I possibly can, and hug the people I love in all those corners. I can't do make up to save myself, and you're more likely to find me buying matching stationary than matching clothes. My nerd hobbies include a new found love of the Avengers, reading YA, watching Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, and every vlogger I can find, and being the last person on the music bandwagons. I have big plans for the rest of my life, including university, teaching, travelling, and having an army of puppies. I plan to blog every second of it!

  1. Hey Victoria! I think you’ve forgottenβ€”I’m supposed to be posting a cast wishlist and review on May 7th. πŸ™‚ I don’t know, I’m guessing this is what we decided on πŸ˜€

    1. I knew I was forgetting someone!! I went through my emails, and couldn’t find your one. I am so so sorry! I’ll add you now πŸ™‚ Would I be able to change you to the 8th, or does that mess with your blog schedule? πŸ™‚

  2. So happy to start this and participate as well! πŸ˜€
And well my internet was acting pretty weird all day, shouldn’t we also reblog every post of the blog buddy reads, it would be cool and look a bit professional, I think. What do you think about it?

  3. Aww this would be so much fun! But sadly I’m currently busy with studying as well as have several books lined up for my Popsugar Reading Challenge. Hopefully I can join in the next ones (if there will be any, that is!) πŸ™‚ Hope you all have a good time reading! ❀

  4. Aww this looks like such a blast. Plus, I’ve been wanting to reread the trilogy before I read The Heir. I want to be a part of it but I’m rereading Throne of Glass and reading an ARC for an author so I don’t know if I’ll have time. But I can’t wait to read the posts!
