Top Ten All Time Favourite Books From the Last 2 Years

Unsuprisingly, this was incredibly difficult. But I managed fairly well I think, with only a little cheating 🙂 I can’t remember exactly what I read in the last 3 years, which was the original challenge, so I’ve just kept it to 2014 and 2015, since I’ve had Goodreads

1. Two Brothers by Ben Elton. This one just had to be first. The rest aren’t in order, but this is one of the best books I’ve read possibly forever. It’s historical fiction, and it’s beautiful
2. The Mystery of Mercy Close by Marian Keyes. I struggled to pick just one Keyes book. But Helen did it for me. A Shovel List! A list of people she wants to hit in the face with a shovel! I mean COME ON
3. Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. Yes, I can choose a whole series. How can I choose just one? I (still) have one to go, but I loved the first four
4. The Dying of the Light by Derek Landy. I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS SERIES IS OVER D’: It was amazing. Don’t worry, the ending does wrap it all up perfectly
5. Time Traveller’s Wife by Audrey Niffenger. Psh, I didn’t cry… Not at all… It takes a lot for me to cry, that’d just be crazy…
6. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. One of my all time favourite couples. And Rowell is just spectacular in every way
7. Game of Thrones and Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin. It’s so detailed, I love that. I genuinely care about every single character, which is impressive when I struggle to remember all their names. I mean, just look at them! (I haven’t read that closely, so be careful of spoilers). Again, yes, I can do a series!
8. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Cath is just like me but older. I told you I loved Rowell, didn’t I?
9. Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela. It was really, REALLY long, but absolutely worth it. He’s an incredible man, who did amazing things. He stayed in jail for 19 years and came out prime minister. Well, with a bit of stuff in the middle, but that’s still seriously impressive
10. Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I fell in love with these sisters. They were so sweet, and cute. I want to be adopted into that family
