Top Ten Tuesday (#11)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. They tell us what to write our top ten for, and we do! This week…

Top Ten Favourite Heroines From Books

toptentuesday

If you’ve been following a blog for a while, you’ll know that I HATE main characters. So this was pretty hard for me. But I managed. So enjoy!

  1. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. You can’t be surprised by this. She must be on your list. She is me, and I love her
  2. Celaena Sardothian from Throne of Glass. I only just finished this book and she’s already on my list! She’s so sassy and brave. Also an assassin, which is clearly the best career
  3. Dany Targaryan from Game of Thrones. She’s also incredibly brave. Especially considering how young she is. And she’s so good, rescuing all those slaves, even if her methods are a little questionable
  4. Valkyrie Cain from Skulduggery Pleasant. I love everyone in this series, but most of them are guys… They’re all so sarcastic, it’s fantastic
  5. Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy. Again, incredibly brave and sassy. Plus her and Dimitri are so freaking cute!!!
  6. America Singer IN THE SELECTION ONLY. Definitely not the rest of the series. Then she’s very high up on my Shovel List. (keep reading, you’ll understand)
  7. June from Legend. I liked her from page one. She was a bit dumb sometimes, but not as bad as most main characters. And her and Day are soooo cuuuuute
  8. Max Ride from Maximum Ride. She’s so protective of the flock, I love that. I think it’s time to re-read this series, it’s been too long!
  9. Helen Walsh from the Mystery at Mercy Close . She’s the one with the Shovel List. A list of people she wants to hit in the face with a shovel. I mean, come on, that’s the greatest idea EVER
  10. Cath from Fangirl. I worry that I’m going to be like her when I’m in university… But that wouldn’t be all bad, she is pretty cool. Plus I’ve always wanted a twin

So, as per usual, send me links to your own Top Ten Tuesday’s. Tell me what you agree or disagree with on my list. And make sure you read all of these books!

I was a book blogger for a while, and I now blog about every little thing in life I can think of. Bear with me while I try all these new posts out... I'm a New Zealand teen who gets angry about the world (but not angry enough for tumblr). I like to capture the world through photos and words, and read in all the moments in nz-squadbetween. I have an overwhelming desire to see every corner of the world I possibly can, and hug the people I love in all those corners. I can't do make up to save myself, and you're more likely to find me buying matching stationary than matching clothes. My nerd hobbies include a new found love of the Avengers, reading YA, watching Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, and every vlogger I can find, and being the last person on the music bandwagons. I have big plans for the rest of my life, including university, teaching, travelling, and having an army of puppies. I plan to blog every second of it!

  1. I got a little concerned when I saw America up there! But yeah, I guess she’s okay in the selection. I was so annoyed with her in The Elite, though. And less in The One. Really glad you like Celaena! She’s one of my favorites, too. 😉

  2. Hermione Granger is my gal…I absolutely adore her. And I’m loved Celaena Sardothian in the Throne of Glass; definitely need to pick up the rest of the series soon. Also, Dany Targaryan is simply brilliant!!

  3. I read the Maximum Ride books in middle school, and I loved how Max was so kick-but and independent! Although I think the series was dragged out for far too long (how many books are there now? Eight? Nine?) I really admired Patterson’s strong female characters, because most of them in that series are awesome as well. Great list! 🙂
