16 Things I Love

One of my New Years Resolutions was to post more about me. And, well, I haven’t been doing so well… So today I’m trying! I’ll list 16 (because that’s how old I am) things I love, and later on I’ll do 16 things I hate. Most of them are little, obscure ones, the ones you wouldn’t guess

  1. Anything vanilla. I’m about 99% sure that angels wear vanilla scented things. They just have to! I have vanilla moisturiser, and I put it on all the time!
  2. Second hand book shops. Again, they smell really good. Plus, they’re cheap!
  3. The water. I love to swim! In New Zealand, we all live half an hour away from the sea (or round about), and my family goes there a lot. I’ve been to Rarotonga, look how gorgeous it is!Rarotonga
  4. Giraffes. They are by far my favourite animal. I’ve fed one, and it was AMAZING. Their tongues are all long and coolGiraffe Tongue
  5. Little kids. I’m a Brownie leader, and I love all my little girls to death. They’re seriously adorable
  6. Travel. I haven’t done nearly enough, even though I’ve done more than all my friends. I want to go absolutely everywhere
  7. Musicals. Specifically Mamma Mia, Grease, Chicago, and Burlesque. Oh, and High School Musical, because SHARPAYSharpay gif
  8. Blue eyes. Not just because mine are blue, but because they’re always beautiful. Especially the bright blue ones that stare into your soul. How beautiful is this baby?!?Blue Eyed Baby
  9. Pianos. I can’t play myself, but I’d love to be able to. Piano players always look so pretty and delicate
  10. Anything I can’t do. Art and craft, sport, baking, even touching your nose with your tongue. You name it, I want to know more
  11. Cheesy romance. I love the happy ending, the fake-but-beautiful lines, the kissing in the rain, the candles and bubble baths *swoon*Kiss in the Rain
  12. Rain on the roof. There’s nothing better then being snuggled up in bed, and you don’t have to get up in the morning, and the rain buckets down above you
  13. Dollhouses. Even though I haven’t touched mine in years, I can’t bear to give it away. It was bad enough giving up my Barbies! I love the detail of dolls and their furnishings. When I’m rich, my daughter will have the best dolls house she could possibly imagine, with all the food and toys and shops that go with themDolls House
  14. Stereotypes. I want to make sure they’re all true. I want to drink tea in England, have a locker in American high school. It disappoints me that I’m blonde but not dumb
  15. Watching sport. My family does nothing else, especially during world cups. I can’t count how many tennis games we’ve watched in the Australian Open, plus the tournament in New Zealand before that. My parents are going to cricket games in the world cup next month, and I can’t wait for the rugby world cup thisΒ year!!
  16. Nicknames. I think it’s really sweet when someone cares about you enough to give you a nickname, and no one else calls you that. My friend Sian (Siananan) calls me Tor-Tor the Dinosaur πŸ˜›

So, there’s my list! Anything you hate that I’ve listed? Any you agree with? I challenge you all to do your own list with your age! Make sure you send me a link if you do

I was a book blogger for a while, and I now blog about every little thing in life I can think of. Bear with me while I try all these new posts out... I'm a New Zealand teen who gets angry about the world (but not angry enough for tumblr). I like to capture the world through photos and words, and read in all the moments in nz-squadbetween. I have an overwhelming desire to see every corner of the world I possibly can, and hug the people I love in all those corners. I can't do make up to save myself, and you're more likely to find me buying matching stationary than matching clothes. My nerd hobbies include a new found love of the Avengers, reading YA, watching Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, and every vlogger I can find, and being the last person on the music bandwagons. I have big plans for the rest of my life, including university, teaching, travelling, and having an army of puppies. I plan to blog every second of it!

  1. Thanks for the follow!

OK, I know I’m pretty late to the party here but I thought this was a cool post so I decided to comment anyway.

I love secondhand bookshops too! I recently started buying some records, which are really expensive, so I had to tone down my book spending, and thus I discovered the glories of a good secondhand bookshops. I’m from Ireland and there are some great shops in Dublin (capital city) which is near enough to me.

I also play the piano and I’m slowly getting to the stage where I can play pieces I actually like (within reason though. Basically all of the music I like is unplayable on the piano. Imagine this on the piano for example:

In terms of sport you’re so lucky to be from New Zealand. As I said, I’m Irish and the only international sport we’re any good at is rugby and the last time we played you, well, you remember what happened. I actually missed most of the Australian mainly because it was all on when I was asleep.

In terms of stereotypes I’m actually pretty bad. I’m Irish but I have black hair, I play rugby and not hurling, my name is Killian with a K (that’s the dirty English version), I’m not particularly religious, I don’t like potatoes and (this is the worst one) I prefer coffee to tea. However, I am quickly becoming an incredibly stereotypical hipster: I love coffee and vinyl records, I have glasses (which I do actually need) and I like loads of weird bands that none of my friends know.

Great post and thanks for sticking with me on my rambling comment!

    1. That was such a long comment, that was great πŸ™‚ Second hand shops save so much money!
Ah, that’d be difficult… My friend can play the Halo theme songs, but that took him forever to learn πŸ˜›
Aww, poor Irish πŸ˜› You try, and that’s what counts! Time zones are so annoying when watching sport. Everything is on late at night here, it gets annoying.
Oh, you suck! You have the great accent though, so I forgive you πŸ™‚
