Top Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

toptentuesday

Well, basically all of them. I read hardly any new releases. But the ones I’m most disappointed about:

  1. Panic by Lauren Oliver. I read another book by her and didn’t get around to that one
  2. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins. I heard nothing but good things about this one
  3. Enders by Lissa Price. I loved Starters, and for some reason forgot that this sequel was going to happen
  4. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski. Just look how pretty the cover is!Winner's Curse
  5. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. Apparently it’s a bit predictable, but it still sounds good

And for my other five, I picked books from series that I’m not up to, but have wanted to read the earlier books

  1. City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare. I’ve finally read the first one, yay!
  2. Cress by Marissa Meyer. So many great reviews for this series!
  3. The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. This series sounds AMAZING
  4. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. I know, why haven’t I read this? Please don’t hate me…
  5. The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan. I’ve nearly finished Percy Jackson, then I can start on this!

Send me a link to your own TTT! And tell me if I’m missing any, or should take some off because they’re terrible.

  1. I finally started the Lunar Chronicles books right at the end of December, and read them all right in a row. Cress was great! I hope you enjoy it. Looks like you’ve got some great reading to catch up on. Enjoy!

  2. There’s several on your lists that I haven’t gotten around to yet either!! I want to read Panic, Thousand Pieces, Winners Curse, etc. I’ve read all but the last one in Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments series. I have it but just haven’t gotten around to it yet — procrastination!! Anyway, great lists!! 🙂

  3. I’m in 100% agreement with the first half of your list, especially when it comes to Enders! I loved Starters so I would like to see more of the that world. As for the second half I’m current in those series – I hope you like them as much as I did! By the way have you read any of The Infernal Devices? The other three I have read only Throne of Glass, and I can’t wait to continue that series. I have not started the others – I definitely need to read the Heroes of Olympus series! 🙂

  4. Cress, The Winner’s Curse & The Blood of Olympus were all great! And I’ve started The Mortal Instruments series finally, so that means I’ll be reading the City of Heavenly Fire hopefully soon. Also need to read the rest of the book on your list…maybe we can buddy read one some time 🙂

  5. City of Heavenly Fire and Heir of Fire were both two standout reads for me in 2014. I hope you love them as much as I do 🙂 Of course, with these types of fantasy series, “love” often involves intense sobbing over some death/breakup/other event, but, you know.

But to be honest, Panic didn’t impress me as much as I’d hoped. It was slightly predictable at times, and overall not the scary, gripping story I was expecting :/

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I consider it a great read if it makes me cry. I’ve actually come out of my room after finishing a book and gone “That was terrible, I barely welled up!” 😛
Someone else commented saying the same about Panic! It’s getting pushed further and further down my list…

  6. I love the Winner’s Curse! 😀 It was an amazing read. I have CoHF and HoF on my list too. I heard nothing but good things about these books. I read Retribution last year and I can say that the series is really intriguing and unique. Hope you get to read these soon ❤
